Our Molecular Techniques
DNA/RNA Extraction & Purification
Our DNA and RNA extraction workflow predominantly focuses on Sterivex filters. We have a range of lysis options for extraction depending on the sample matrix. We use spin-column and bead based purification techniques. We are also able to consider extractions from sediment, soil, plant tissue and scat. We have experience in inhibitor removal and a range of sample extraction characterisation instrumentation (Qubit/Nanodrop).
PCR & Library Preparation
We have experience in primer design alongside the utilisation of published primers, both for single target amplification and for amplicon preparation for subsequent sequencing work. We can conduct initial screening of your samples using gel electrophoresis as an end point or for QC checking prior to sequencing.
qPCR
For single targets / amplicons we are able to provide multiplex (up-to 6 channels) or intercalating dye based quantitative PCR, in single tube or 96 well format.

Bioinformatics
We continue to invest in the development of bioinformatic pipelines for our common data sets. We are also able to produce bespoke scripts and pipelines for a range of molecular data. We also offer visualisations and graphical representations of complex data which often consists not only of molecular data but data fused with other sensors such as imaging, acoustic, geospatial and metrological.
Reporting
We can work with you to provide data for your scientific, regulatory and compliance reporting requirements. Typical examples include eDNA reporting, Environmental Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain Analysis.
Dashboard & Data API
Our data can be hosted and made interrogable via APIs so that our customers can integrate into their own software or back-end systems. We offer a dashboard solution, which allows key indicators, as well as raw data in various formats to enable customers to do their own data processing and analysis.
